The year 2014 marks a momentous period in the life of our young organization. Indeed, galvanized by your generosity over the past three years and hopeful for your continued support, the all-volunteer Board of Directors authorized the construction of what will soon be our first three-classroom school building. The work began in early March with the construction of a watchman/storage structure, followed by foundation work on the main building. The work progressed from March to July according to plan and within budget.
This is a major step towards our goal of having a completed three-classroom and office building ready for academic year 2015-2016, which begins in September 2015. It is also a bold statement of our collective hope and faith that despite very limited resources we should begin incrementally to give shape to our dream and goal to ever so slightly widen educational opportunity for the youth of Gampela and its surroundings. You should all take pride in having provided us with such solid foundation and the bricks to bring the building off the ground. Click here to view construction photos.
In the coming months, with your help, we will raise a roof over the building and to completing it with doors and windows. Contribute generously to our fall 2014 appeal sending us a check to the address provided.
Do not forget to support the Program for African Growth through Education on your next Amazonsmile shopping trip. 0.5% of your total purchase will be donated to PAGE if you select us as your favorite charity.
Help us raise this roof. In so doing we will be raising more than wood and metal, we will be raising possibilities and cultivating potential.
As the wise villagers from Gampela would say: “Aya Aya n’zenked sugri !” It takes a collaborative effort to raise a roof. PAGE, Inc. counts on your support to place that roof where it belongs in 2015.

Help Us Build Our First Secondary School
In January 2013, we laid the cornerstone for our first secondary school in the village of Gampéla, approximately 12 miles northeast of the capital city of Ouagadougou. Our first school will be a modest, one-story, cinder block structure consisting of 3 classrooms and an administrative office/library/meeting room. The total cost for this first school is approximately $50,000 of which we have raised $22,000.
We are requesting $8000 for the following items in order to erect our school.
* The remaining 2000 cinder blocks will cost $1500 for the purchase of cement and will be made by volunteers.
* The concrete foundation for the school will cost $2000
* Transportation to move the bricks to our Gampéla site and to store the bricks in a secure container/building will cost $1500.
* A construction manager and workers to erect the initial structure will cost $3000. Some of the construction work will be done by volunteers from the Association Burkinabé Pour la Promotion de l'Education.
